Paris is considered a must-visit destination for many, but often, when people arrive, they find that the overwhelming crowds of tourists prevent them from seeing the city in its full glory. A French photographerMathieu Sterncreated a video titled "Alone In Paris." The footage shows a woman wandering through Paris’s most iconic spots—all completely empty of people—not only revealing her inner state but also allowing viewers to see the city as it truly is.

In the video "Alone In Paris," famous crowded landmarks such as the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triomphe have all been transformed into empty, tranquil spaces—featuring only the woman—thereby showcasing the most authentic beauty of these architectural masterpieces. After Mathieu Stern posted the video on YouTube, it garnered about 80,000 views within just two days. Netizens left comments praising it as a “beautiful work,” “amazing,” and expressed admiration for the photographer’s post-production skills.

Photographer Mathieu Stern explained that he got the idea while spending a lot of time on the metro, pondering, “What if everyone in Paris just disappeared?” That thought became the inspiration for “Alone In Paris.” The scenes were filmed around 2 p.m.—not during the early morning hours when there are naturally fewer people. After nearly two months of post-production work, removing every pedestrian from the footage, he managed to create a nearly empty version of Paris.

In an interview with ETtoday News Cloud, Mathieu Stern also mentioned that he had once visited Taiwan and thought Taiwan was absolutely beautiful. He expressed his strong desire to come to Taiwan to shoot videos or even create a piece titled "Alone In Taiwan," if sponsors could support the project.
