In recent years, numerous internationally renowned restaurants and dessert shops have chosen to expand into Taiwan. These include not only Japanese ramen, Korean cuisine, American BBQ, but also classic French pastries. A wide variety of authentic international flavors are now available in Taiwan. Below isa list of 5 new food and dessert spots opened in April, which are sure to spark a wave of long queues.
1. Mighty Quinn’s
New York’s most popular BBQ restaurant, Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque, opened its first Taiwan branch on April 18. Combining the characteristics of Texas and North Carolina BBQ, the meat is slow-smoked over a long period to preserve its original flavor and juiciness. Main dishes include brisket, short rib, and dinosaur rib steak, as well as classic options like pulled pork and pork ribs.

2. Ichiran Ramen
Also opened in April, Ichiran Ramen’s broth is made by simmering chicken bones, chicken feet, chicken fat, ground meat, and five different types of seafood. It also offers Japan’s first low-temperature cooked chicken and pork chashu. Additionally, Ichiran Ramen’s “Special Rich Seafood Tsukemen” is known as a champion tsukemen. The shop stated that to maintain quality and authenticity, it will not open a second location in Taiwan—so if you want to try it, Taipei is your only option!

3. Busan Jennifer
Set to officially open on April 26, Busan Jennifer brings Korea’s trending Busan Nine-Layer Seafood Tower to Taiwan. Its biggest highlight is the towering nine-tiered pot, with each layer featuring different seafood and ingredients—including king crab, lobster, clams, octopus, scallops, white shrimp, oysters, organic vegetables, and spicy miso soup. There are also appetizers like bomb squid and iron plate egg fried rice. Self-proclaimed foodies, don’t miss this!

4.Emack & Bolio's
The internationally renowned dessert brand and popular American ice cream shop Emack & Bolio’s is expected to enter Taiwan in late April or early May. Emack & Bolio’s boasts super creamy, authentic American flavors. Cone flavors include various chocolates, colorful options, and more, with customizable choices. Not only does it offer a wide range of sweets and ice creams, its biggest highlight is the ability to stack ice cream as high as you want without limits.

5.Louise
With a 32-year history, the popular French ice cream brand Louise entered Taiwan in April, opening its first branch near Taipei’s Zhongxiao Fuxing Station. Created and designed by MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) Philippe Urraca, Louise’s signature dessert “Profiterole” combines freshly baked choux pastry, ice cream, and a variety of creative toppings. Currently, the store offers 8 different flavors to choose from.
