Tokyo’s “Snoopy Museum” Opens: 3 Must-Sees Inside the Museum

Long-awaited by fans, Asia’s first “Snoopy Museum” opened on the 23rd in Tokyo, becoming a new attraction for travelers visiting the city. According to Japanese media reports, the Snoopy Museum can be divided into three main highlights—offering fans plenty to see, buy, and eat.

First Highlight: The Exhibition

Before entering the venue, five cute Snoopy mascots greet you outside. The tickets are also creatively designed—the museum reveals that four different comic strip-themed commemorative tickets are issued daily. By looking at the comics on the tickets, visitors can learn which comics creator Charles M. Schulz released on that particular day, providing a delightful surprise upon entry. The museum also suggests visiting on your birthday to discover what was released on that date.

Once inside, you’ll see a large mural of Charlie Brown and Snoopy snuggling together, which is actually made up of 4,452 comic panels. It offers different highlights whether viewed up close or from afar. From now until September 23rd, the opening commemorative exhibition will also display many rare, never-before-seen original sketches—for example, a Valentine’s Day gift from Charles M. Schulz in 1985, where he colored a black-and-white sketch in color and added numerous red hearts and love messages for his wife, as well as Schulz’s personal items, all of which are key highlights of the exhibit.

In one corner of the museum, you’ll find white walls with numerous small holes drilled into them. Peering inside, you can see comic characters with various expressions—a fun and unmissable detail.

Second Highlight: Merchandise

The Tokyo Snoopy Museum has launched a range of original merchandise this time, from basic plush toys, figurines, and cookies, to tote bags, daily-use goods, and drinks—boasting over 500 varieties in total that are sure to tempt fans to splurge.

Third Highlight: The Snoopy-Themed Restaurant

The museum’s Snoopy-themed restaurant, “Cafe Blanket,” is definitely not to be missed. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with large floor-to-ceiling windows letting in sunlight, creating a bright and relaxing atmosphere.
