Honoring Hatta Yoichi: Free Entry to Southern Taiwan’s Wushantou Reservoir All Day on May 8

May 8 each year marks the death anniversary of Hatta Yoichi, known as the father of the Chianan Irrigation System. This year marks the 74th anniversary of his passing. In addition to a memorial service being held at Wushantou Reservoir on that day, the reservoir scenic area will also be open to the public free of charge all day. At 3:00 p.m., a nostalgic Japanese children’s song concert will be held in front of the historic train engine within the park to honor Hatta Yoichi’s significant contributions to the region.
