The Hore Jien Burst Cheese Sandwich specializes in authentic Canadian-style hot toast. The bread is buttered and grilled, resulting in a crispy crust. When you take a bite while it's hot, the melted cheese oozes out from inside — extremely comforting and loved by cheese lovers. Recently, they’ve taken it a step further with the Rainbow Burst Cheese version, which uses natural vegetable pigments instead of food coloring to give the cheese soft pastel shades, hiding a rainbow inside the toast. The visual is super dreamy when you tear it open!

The Rainbow Burst Cheese Sandwich achieves its rainbow effect using natural vegetables and plants for dyeing. Red comes from tomatoes, green from basil, purple from purple cabbage, yellow from cheddar cheese, and white from mozzarella. During the initial R&D phase, food coloring was used to dye the cheese, resulting in bright and beautiful colors, but it was rejected by a foreign chef who insisted on using plant-based dyes. The process is labor-intensive: chopping, cooking, cooling, and dyeing the vegetables, with each color requiring five rounds of repetition. Once the colors are ready, making the sandwich involves layering different colored cheeses one by one. Due to the complex process and higher cheese content, the price is slightly higher than the original flavor sandwich.

There’s also a new drink called “Sea Cheese Pop.” Its name doesn’t give away what it is, but Hore Jien explains that it’s made with fresh lime juice and is an exclusive recipe you won’t find elsewhere. Customers who have tried it say it tastes like a mix of lemon and Yakult, and some even say it’s addictive!
