Enjoy 12 homestyle dishes in Hsinchu’s Xiangshan — a booming travel hotspot with two curated local tours

The Hsinchu City Government is actively promoting the “Mountain-Sea Paradise Project,” designing travel itineraries for Hsinchu’s Xiangshan area. The one-day tour allows visitors to explore glass tourism factories, sample rice noodles with nearly a century of heritage, and savor 12 homestyle dishes cooked by local moms. The two routes have different themes and are now open for registration.

For those joining the “Explore Xiangshan” one-day tour, Xiangshan’s Glass Settlement in Hsinchu is quite famous, featuring spots like the “Chun Chi Glass Tourism Factory,” “Ling Long Kiln,” and “Tai Glass Workshop.” The “Ming Fa Fixed Net Fishery” is the only fixed net fishery on Taiwan’s west coast, now in its 27th year. Fish are caught and auctioned daily, offering the shortest distance from ocean to table.

The tour also includes sampling 12 homestyle dishes prepared by Xiangshan moms. The LUAU Wood-Fired Pizza Shop is a hidden creative cottage inspired by Southeast Asian style, nestled in the woods and fields. The owner used their artistic talent to build this old-style structure, making both the architecture and dining environment highly design-oriented.
