New Hotel in Chiayi Unveils "Sun Painting Hills" Room Concept, Blending Imagery of Alishan Sunrises

The new brand accommodation "HowToTrip Culture & Tourism - Sun Painting Hills," developed by Tiancheng Hotels, is set to open in Chiayi in June. Its white geometric architectural design, elegant like an art gallery, has drawn considerable attention even before its launch. Now, the room concepts have been unveiled, incorporating local cultural features such as the Alishan sunrise, mountain mists, cypress trees, and other natural elements, with its minimalist style attracting much attention.

The long-established Tiancheng Hotels has adapted to market trends by diversifying and launching new brands. In 2013, it introduced the "Hive" hotel targeting younger travelers; in 2016, it launched two new brands: "HowToTrip Culture & Tourism - Sun Painting Hills" and "Ruisui Spring International Tourist Hotel." Utilizing a core methodology called the "script method" and conducting comprehensive field research, the group emphasizes both urban and resort hotels, evolving into a full-service hotel conglomerate.

"HowToTrip Culture & Tourism - Sun Painting Hills" focuses on integrating local cultural characteristics. Its first location will open on Daya Road in Chiayi, featuring a total of 71 guest rooms. The exterior, with its stacked white geometric forms, boasts a simple yet elegant design reminiscent of an art gallery. The guest rooms incorporate motifs inspired by Alishan — sunrises, mountain mists, cypress trees, and other natural elements — which are subtly integrated into public spaces and guest rooms through thoughtful design.

As for the "Ruisui Spring International Tourist Hotel," it is located in Ruisui Township, Hualien, covering a land area of 20,000 pyeong (approximately 65,800 square meters), with plans for 198 guest rooms. It is Taiwan’s first integrated luxury resort combining a five-star hotel, villa accommodations, and a family-friendly hot spring theme park. Designed in the style of a Tuscan manor from Southern Europe, it is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2017.
