Freshly squeezed juice shop debuts handmade tapioca pearls in creative flavors—raspberry and black sesame!

With the weather getting warmer and summer quietly approaching, a refreshing drink is just what you need. Ever since trying “LOHASS Lohas Fresh Fruit Tea,” DaKou has been hooked on their freshly squeezed, additive-free fruit teas. Now, with the launch of handmade tapioca pearls, DaKou was eager to check out the LOHASS Lohas Fresh Fruit Tea Zhongli SOGO store!

Their handmade tapioca pearls currently come in three flavors: white jade, black sesame, and wild berry. For now, only the Zhongli Station Front Branch and Zhongli SOGO Branch offer handmade pearls, all made from natural ingredients. The untainted natural color and delicate sweet taste are their most authentic delights. Whether paired with 100% fresh milk, fresh milk green tea, or fresh fruit tea, they’re a perfect match. Fans of QQ-textured tapioca pearls definitely shouldn’t miss them!

The LOHASS Lohas Fresh Fruit Tea Zhongli SOGO store is located on Xinxing Road in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City. Just around the corner is the ticket booth for Venice Cinema, and there’s also a paid parking lot nearby. It’s super convenient even if you ride a scooter!

The overall vibe is clean and bright, with a modern and youthful aesthetic that feels very inviting.

During peak hours, the place gets quite lively. The line moves quickly, and the service is efficient, making the experience smooth and pleasant.

You can see shelves stacked with various colorful ingredients. All the raw materials are fresh and high quality. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the staff making drinks on-site, adding to the transparency and appeal. Previously, they even had celebrity endorsement from the popular baseball player Lin Chih-Sheng, helping more people get to know this brand full of smiles and excellent service.

Popular menu items include lemon green tea, grape green tea, and guava green tea. Each one looks vibrant and bursting with natural flavor. The lemon green tea is slightly tangy and sweet, with a refreshing aftertaste. The grape green tea combines slow-milled grape juice with green tea, resulting in a sweet and delicious taste where the green tea balances the grape’s richness, making it even more refreshing. The guava green tea is made with slow-milled guava juice and green tea, offering a light, fresh taste with a lingering sweetness.

On the menu, besides classic fresh fruit teas, original teas, fresh milk teas, yogurts, slow-milled series, and freshly squeezed juices, there’s now also the new handmade tapioca pearl option. These pearls are made entirely by hand on-site, with no extra additives beyond the ingredients—ensuring both safety and great taste!

The production area is neat and tidy. Not only is it hygienic, but the process is transparent. If you’re lucky, you might even see the staff making the pearls right in front of you.

To make the pearls, first, black sesame powder, tapioca starch, and water are mixed in equal proportions. The mixture is then kneaded into dough using a machine. Afterward, it’s manually shaped into long strips, coated with a thin layer of tapioca starch, and finally cut into pieces by machine.

Once boiled, the pearls float to the surface and are ready to be served. While watching them being made, DaKou kept smelling the rich aroma of black sesame—it was hard not to want to take a bite right away!

The final step is simple: just cook the pearls, and they’re ready to enjoy. And that’s how they end up looking as we know them!

The pearls aren’t made using pre-packaged mixes. They’re prepared from scratch, which preserves their natural color and flavor.

As for the taste, they have that classic chewy texture and delicious flavor.

In addition to the black sesame pearls, there are also regular tapioca pearls that differ from the common ones—you get those classic white pearls with their distinctive chewy feel.

One must-try is the LOHASS Q Milk (Medium/NT$65), made with 100% fresh milk and featuring handmade white jade, black sesame, and wild berry pearls. You can enjoy all three pearl flavors in one drink!

The Q Milk tastes creamy and smooth, with the chewy texture of the three different flavored pearls adding a satisfying bite. Every so often, you’ll get a hint of the subtle tartness and aroma from the black sesame or wild berry pearls. It’s naturally sweet without needing any added sugar. Another option is the Black Sesame Q Milk (Medium/NT$65), also made with 100% fresh milk and handmade black sesame pearls. It’s like drinking a sesame milkshake—the rich aroma of black sesame pairs perfectly with the natural creaminess of the milk, resulting in a Q-textured, smooth drink that’s delicious even without added sugar.

Also worth trying is the Jasmine Green Tea with Milk (Medium/NT$55, Large/NT$65), made with 100% fresh milk, jasmine green tea, and handmade white jade pearls. It looks crystal clear, with no unnecessary additives, so it retains a natural transparency. The pearls are round and small, utterly adorable!

The jasmine green tea with milk not only looks refreshing, but also has a slightly sweet and floral taste. The chewy white jade pearls add a fun textural element to the fresh flavor. Each cup also features the exclusive LOHASS Lohas logo, giving it a clean and pleasant appearance.

There’s also the Fresh Milk Green Tea (Medium/NT$55, Large/NT$65), made with 100% fresh milk, jasmine green tea, and black sesame pearls. It has a refreshing taste with a strong hint of black sesame, and the Q-textured, sweet pearls provide a rich layer of flavor in every bite.

Another favorite is the Sugarcane Lemon (Medium/NT$55, Large/NT$65), made with fresh lemon juice, cane sugar, and handmade wild berry pearls. It has a light tartness with a unique sugarcane aroma, paired with the chewy, tangy wild berry pearls for a refreshing and QQ-textured drink. It’s perfect for hot summer days!

The Passion Fruit Green Tea (Medium/NT$55, Large/NT$65) is made with fresh passion fruit, jasmine green tea, and wild berry pearls. You can actually taste the passion fruit pulp along with the chewy, tangy-sweet wild berry pearls. Paired with the refreshing and sweet-aftertaste green tea, it’s a perfect match.

The fruit-based drinks are made using real, freshly squeezed fruit, ensuring great taste and natural flavor.

The LOHASS Lohas Fresh Fruit Tea shop has a fresh, wood-textured interior with a slight hipster vibe. The variety of drinks is impressive. Aside from freshly squeezed fruit teas, they’ve now introduced their brand-new handmade tapioca pearl series. There’s even a transparent display window where you can watch the pearls being made, ensuring a safe and delicious experience. Their handmade pearls have that classic QQ-chewy texture, perfect for those who love a bit of bite. The black sesame flavor is rich, with actual black sesame bits, while the wild berry pearls combine blueberries and raspberries for a slightly tart, refreshing taste. They pair wonderfully with either fresh milk or fruit tea. The white jade pearls let you enjoy the original flavor and chewy texture of the pearls, making them great with fresh milk green tea or plain milk. For now, handmade pearls are only available at the Zhongli Station Front and Zhongli SOGO branches—so don’t go to the wrong one.
