Green Egg Island, originally named Lan Pai, was recently dubbed “Green Egg Island” due to its resemblance to a fried egg and the abundance of green vegetation on the small hill. The island features a small sandy beach with clear water, fine sand, and shallow depths—perfect for wading and snorkeling. On days of spring tides, you can walk directly across the sandbar to reach Green Egg Island; on regular days, you’ll need to wade through water.

Features: Glassy water, high-quality small beach, snorkeling, pebble beach
Scenery: 9/10
Difficulty: 2/10 (by boat, minimal scrambling); 6/10 (hiking the trail, overgrown)
Danger: 2/10 (minimal scrambling, walking on rocks)
Getting There:
(1) Hike for about 2 hours from Lobster Bay or Tai Au Mun (challenging – overgrown path)
(2) Rent a boat to get there
(3) Rent a kayak to get there

．The hiking trail isn’t steep, only about 1.5 km in distance, but it’s overgrown and took about 2 hours to walk
．The best view of Green Egg Island is actually along the hiking trail
．Finally arrived — first resting on the pebble beach. The stone beach formed by pebbles isn’t sharp on the feet (if you’re not too sensitive)
．Next time I’ll go by kayak
．There are several “Imperial Concubine Pools” on Green Egg Island, but swimming is not recommended

．Actually, I already saw glassy water in Wong Mau Chau last year, but there were fewer beaches to relax on — Green Egg Island wins!!
