2019 Pinko Town – A Wall-Free Art Museum of Ten Must-Photo Hipster Scenes

Organized by the Fubon Art Foundation, “Pinko Town” brings together artworks by many artists from Taiwan and abroad every year, installing them in everyday public spaces to bring art into daily life and allow pedestrians to enjoy the wonders of art while strolling down the street. The 2019 Pinko Town mainly spans the Xinyi District shopping area in Taipei, with art installations set up at various popular spots to create a wall-free art museum.

The curatorial theme of 2019 Pinko Town, “Chair 'Present’ (席、息相关),” uses a homophone pun to metaphorically reflect on the existence and connection of our positions. This year, the event also brings together eight artists from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Denmark, Italy, and France, integrating their creative energies with the city. The dialogue generated between their works and the urban environment brings a unique artistic atmosphere to the Xinyi District.

The ten exhibition locations featuring artworks by these eight artists include the Fubon Xinyi A25 Headquarters Building, Zhongyi Plaza, Songshou Plaza, Xinyi Plaza, 44 South Village, Breeze Songgao, Breeze Xinyi, Breeze Nanshan, Eslite Bookstore Xinyi Branch, and Taipei Cultural and Creative Center. While enjoying the artworks, visitors can also download the “Pinko Town AR Guide APP” to experience augmented reality navigation, take photos, and interact with the installations.
