Since the launch of direct flights between Matsuyama and Haneda Airport late last year, this route has gradually become a popular choice for travelers visiting Japan. JR East Japan has introduced a Suica & Monorail combo ticket for foreign tourists, combining a “round-trip discount ticket” (from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho Station on the Tokyo Monorail) with the prepaid electronic currency “Suica,” offering great convenience for travelers.

The Suica & Monorail combo ticket is available in two price options: single journey for 2,400 yen (one-way from Haneda Airport International Terminal to Hamamatsucho on the same day) and round trip for 2,700 yen (valid for 10 days). Both options include a Suica card with 1,500 yen credit and a 500 yen deposit, which can be used on JR East trains, subways, buses, and station shops.

The combo ticket goes on sale starting February 1, 2011, and is only available to foreign tourists holding a foreign passport. A passport must be shown when purchasing. It is sold at JR East Japan Travel Service Centers or at Haneda Airport International Terminal Station (Tokyo Monorail), during operating hours of 11:00–18:30. Additionally, to celebrate the launch, the first 1,000 purchasers will receive a limited-edition “Suica & Monorail” charm. Travelers planning a trip to Japan are encouraged to take advantage of this offer.
