Dubbed the “warm-up act” to the Spring Scream, the Megaport Music Festival is set to ignite the passion of southern Taiwan residents. Now in its fourth edition, the Megaport Music Festival once again invites the hardest-hitting indie bands from both home and abroad to make their mark, taking place on March 5th and 6th, 2011 at Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung, delivering the high-energy rock vibes of “Fun, Sweet, Bang” to every music lover and fan of southern Taiwan!

The high-octane Megaport Music Festival is organized by Tha WALL Music, which has hosted various rock music events around the world. Its standout feature is its focus on independent bands from or based in southern Taiwan, making up more than half of the lineup. Alongside well-known indie acts such as 1976, Tizzy Bac, MOJO, Xiao Wang Fu, Bear Baby, Cheng Cao, Strawberry Coma, and Transparent Magazine, this year also sees the appearance of Taiwan’s leading queen of electronic music – Jolin Tsai, bringing an exciting fresh twist and ready to rock southern Taiwan like never before!
Aside from enjoying the music festival, you can also take a short weekend trip to Kaohsiung.
This year’s Megaport Music Festival has also invited cutting-edge Japanese post-rock band “65daysofstatic” back to Taiwan, along with Japan’s Black Cat Chelsea and Furs, plus heavyweight visual bands MUCC and jealkb, sure to drive indie music fans wild with anticipation.
