According to Japanese media reports,
Japanese media reported thatthe CEO of Universal Studios Japan officially announced on the 11th the cancellation of the plan to expand Universal Studios to Okinawa,adding that investment and development will now focus on Universal Studios Osaka. While it’s unfortunate, the plan to build a Universal Studios in Okinawa has definitely been scrapped.
Universal Studios Osaka is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. In addition to launching a series of celebratory events, the park continues to introduce new attractions to offer visitors a different experience each time. According to park plans, a collaboration with Nintendo has been confirmed, and a Mario-themed area is set to open in 2020, featuring numerous Nintendo-related rides and highly anticipated by fans.
