Watching movies in the summer is the most relaxing and enjoyable. The “2011 Taichung Film Fun in Season,” organized by the Taichung City Government, will take place from August 13 to October 29 across ten administrative districts, featuring 25 movie screenings, including 6 large-scale outdoor showings. After watching the films, ticket stubs can be entered into a lucky draw, with grand prizes including round-trip air tickets for two between Taichung and India, aromatherapy products from Heber Garden, and Indian travel books, giving the public a chance to experience Bollywood song and dance shows and local cuisine in India.

This year’s event theme is “Bollywood India.” The opening and closing performances also specially invite groups such as the ICCR Odissi Dance Troupe from India and the Butterfly Dance Center in Taichung to put on spectacular shows. Interested members of the public can head to the venue to experience luxurious and passionate Indian song and dance.

In addition to movies with an Indian flavor, there are also various themes such as domestic films, family-friendly movies, spiritual feasts, and blockbuster hits. There are also multiple free lectures and experience classes, including sessions led by travel expert Jane Yi-wen and Taiwan Holistic Yoga Association founder Chen Jing-yuan, who will introduce various information and cultures about India, as well as a talk by acclaimed domestic film director Yang Li-zhou, whose works include “Cheerful Cheerleaders” and “Forgotten Times.” The public is welcome to join in the fun.
