A magnitude 4.1 earthquake was felt at 20:44 on March 17. The epicenter was located 35.5 km southeast of Yilan County Government. Yilan experienced shaking intensity level 3, Hualien level 2, and Taipei City level 1. The Central Weather Bureau has noted that recent seismic activity has been relatively low. Based on past observations, periods of low earthquake frequency may be followed by larger quakes, so this tremor can be regarded as normal energy release.

On March 18 (Monday) and 19 (Tuesday), a weak frontal system will pass through. On Monday, there will be localized brief showers in central and northern Taiwan, eastern regions, and mountainous areas of the south, while other areas will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 17–23°C.

On Tuesday, March 19, there will still be brief showers in eastern regions, while the north will see cloudy skies after brief rain. Other areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with temperatures about 2–5°C higher than on Monday.
From March 20 to 21 (Wednesday and Thursday), most areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with a noticeable daytime temperature rebound, though some brief afternoon showers may occur in mountainous regions.
On Friday, March 22, as a frontal system passes and the northeast monsoon strengthens, the weather in northern and northeastern Taiwan will turn cooler. On Saturday, March 23, under the influence of the northeast monsoon, the north and northeast will remain cooler, and other areas will also be cooler in the mornings and evenings.
On Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23 (central and northern Taiwan, eastern regions, and mountainous areas of the south will have brief showers, other areas will be mostly cloudy).
