This year’s Roselle Flower Season in Jinfeng Township, Taitung County, will be held from November 12 to 20 at the Xinxing Community Cultural Park (at the foot of the Dendrobium Mountain in Taimali), and will begin with a “blessing ceremony by the Eight Tribal Chiefs.” The activities encompass five main themes: “story performances,” “exhibitions,” “product sales,” “experiential activities,” and “carnival events,” enabling visitors to delve into local traditions and understand the abundant life wisdom between indigenous people and nature.

This year’s Roselle Flower Season centers around the flower’s symbolism of “love and peace,” creating a loving paradise where visitors can recall cherished memories of love and create new ones to treasure. Organizers have curated a range of travel packages, including Roselle Flower Season challenge activities, visits to the Pottery Street, DIY handicraft workshops, storytelling sessions with tribal chiefs, tours of the Sabuyu Tribe, leisurely explorations along the Taimali and Jin Rivers, farmer work-exchange experiences, and tastings of roselle-flavored meals... Visitors can also win attractive prizes through online essay contests and street maze activities.

Known as the “Hometown of the Hundred-Pace Viper,” Jinfeng Township derives its name from the legend among the local Paiwan and Rukai mountain indigenous tribes, who believe they are descendants of the hundred-pace viper and hold deep reverence for their guardian spirit, the yG hundred-pace viper. Once devastated by Typhoon Morakot, the sight of collapsed houses in Jinfeng remains unforgettable. Yet, the resilient and optimistic spirit of Jinfeng’s residents shines once again during the Roselle Flower Season.
