The scenic beauty of the North Coast "captures" newlyweds in their wedding photos

The North Coast is a popular spot for couples to shoot their wedding photos. To capitalize on the ongoing once-in-a-century wedding boom, the North Coast National Scenic Area Administration (NCNSAA) under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications launched the “Romantic Scenery, Sweet 100 – Wedding Photos That Last a Lifetime” photography competition in April. The awards ceremony was held on November 15, selecting 30 winning entries from a pool of 897 submissions. The Gold Award went to Lin Boqi’s work 〈Flight 100〉, which won a cash prize of NT$100,000. Yang Jinguo’s 〈Love Stronger Than Stone〉 and Weng Zhihong’s 〈Happiness Falls from the Sky〉 took home the Silver and Bronze Awards respectively.

In addition to the top three winners, 10 Merit Awards, 10 Honorable Mention Awards, and 7 Creative Awards were also presented. All winning works will be exhibited at the NCNSAA visitor center, and there are plans to showcase them alongside past award-winning entries at Taoyuan International Airport, allowing international visitors to admire the joyful moments of newlyweds and the breathtaking landscapes of the North Coast.

To further promote wedding photography on the North Coast, the NCNSAA plans to increase the prize money for future photography competitions to attract more outstanding domestic and international entries. This will help showcase the rich coastal scenery of the North Coast—including wind-eroded rock formations, the green stone tidal pools of Laomei, and the unique rock formations of Yehliu—to the world.
