Hello Kitty Apple Plane Debuts; New Routes to Fukuoka and Seoul in December

EVA Air’s second-generation Hello Kitty livery aircraft — the Apple Plane — was officially unveiled today (the 7th). Starting today, it will operate on the Taipei–Fukuoka route (BR2106/BR2105) every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. From December 9, it will fly daily on the Taipei–Seoul route (BR160/BR159). All service items on the livery aircraft feature a Hello Kitty theme, and various limited-edition Hello Kitty duty-free products will also be launched periodically.

The “Apple Plane” is the second new A330-300 aircraft introduced by EVA Air this year. Its fuselage features a livery theme of “Hello Kitty Loves Apples.” Since Hello Kitty is five apples tall, weighs three apples, and loves apple pie made by her mother as her favorite dessert, apples hold a special meaning for Hello Kitty.

In terms of travel products, EVA Air has specially partnered with Sanrio’s Harmonyland in Fukuoka, offering passengers who purchase the EVA Air Fukuoka Harmonyland holiday package both park tickets and a JPY500 in-park coupon. Harmonyland has introduced dazzling nighttime light displays this winter, along with a Kitty laser light show.

A total of three second-generation Hello Kitty livery aircraft will be introduced by EVA Air. The first, the “Magic Plane,” began flying the Taipei–Sapporo route on October 31. The second, the “Apple Plane,” started operating the Taipei–Fukuoka route today and will fly the Taipei–Seoul route from December 9. The third, the “Global Plane,” is scheduled to debut by the end of this year and will be deployed on the Taipei–Tokyo and Taipei–Hong Kong routes.
