Taiwanese hotel group makes history: GLAM Restaurant at Yunlang Venice Hotel awarded one Michelin star

Taipei’s Michelin Guide is set to be released in March 2018, but Taiwan’s Yunlong Tourism Group has already made history by earning a Michelin star for its GLAM Restaurant at Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel (also known as Hotel Glam) in Italy, which was included in the recently announced Italian Michelin Guide. This marks the first time a Taiwanese hotel group has received a Michelin one-star rating.

The 2018 Italian Michelin Guide, published on November 16, features a total of 356 restaurants, including 306 one-star, 41 two-star, and 9 three-star establishments. Yunlong Tourism Group’s GLAM Restaurant at Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel has been awarded its first Michelin one star.

The head chef of GLAM Restaurant is 38-year-old Enrico Bartolini. At the age of 29, he earned a Michelin star for Le Robinie, and by 32, he secured a second star for DEVERO, making him the youngest chef in Italian culinary history to achieve two Michelin stars. In 2016, he further made history by earning a total of four Michelin stars in a single year — two stars for Enrico Bartolini and Casual Ristorante, and one star for La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini — setting the record for the most Michelin stars awarded to a single chef in one year in Italian Michelin history.
