Starting from 2012, the unique charm of Malaysia, a holiday paradise, can also be felt in Taipei’s urban jungle. The first wave of tourism marketing campaign in 2012—Malaysia Tourism Train—is set to officially depart. The cultural essence and natural beauty of various parts of Malaysia will be on display as they travel through the streets of Taipei aboard local buses and taxis, vigorously promoting Malaysia’s tourist attractions and regional specialties.

The Malaysian Tourism Board stated that it hopes to “weave” Malaysia’s finest tourism image through public transportation such as buses and taxis across Taipei’s streets and alleys, allowing passersby to experience the leisure and relaxation of Malaysia, a holiday paradise, thus achieving “leisure synchronization with zero time difference” between Taipei and Malaysia.

After Malaysia implemented a 15-day visa-free policy for Taiwanese citizens in March last year, it attracted more Taiwanese tourists to visit. From January to November 2011, over 190,000 Taiwanese travelers visited Malaysia. This year, the Malaysian Tourism Board will introduce a new type of travel experience—Home Stay. Through Home Stay, Taiwanese visitors can get a closer look at the unique cultures of different regions in Malaysia and deeply immerse themselves in the beauty of Malaysian culture.
