16 Yilan City Buses Free to Ride with Card Payment Before End of September

To promote tourism and increase local ridership, Yilan County Government has been continuously improving its urban bus network. Now, to encourage the use of electronic transit cards,a free bus ride promotion with electronic cards will be launched starting June 1. The offer applies to 16 Yilan city buses and will run until the end of September.

The Yilan County Government stated that from June 1 to September 30, passengers riding the 16 Yilan city buses can enjoy free rides by tapping their EasyCard or iPass when boarding and alighting. However, those who do not tap their cards will still need to pay a cash fare of NT$20 per segment.

The county government also announced that starting October 1, general cardholders using electronic tickets on city buses will receive a 25% discount, student cardholders a 50% discount, and both the “Elderly Smart Card” and the “Care Smart Card” for people with disabilities will enjoy free rides.
