Taiwan High Speed Rail will launch the “Weekday Designated Train Group Ticket Discount for Groups of 30 or More” from today (2012) March 1 to March 29. For group passengers of 30 (inclusive) or more traveling during the campaign period on designated trains from Monday to Thursday in standard class seats with assigned seating, and traveling between the same origin and destination stations, full-fare passengers can enjoy a 35% discount off the full fare; senior, child, and compassionate care tickets can enjoy an additional 20% discount off the original 50% discounted fare. Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that the “Weekday Designated Train Group Ticket Discount for Groups of 30 or More” applies from Monday to Thursday, for trains departing from Taipei or Zuoying Station between 9 AM to 11 AM and 7 PM to 11 PM, offering up to 22 northbound and 24 southbound services daily, totaling 184 services per week.

Special reminder to passengers: The number of children in each group must not exceed half of the total group size. Those booking senior or compassionate care tickets must provide relevant supporting documents when making a reservation. When traveling with senior, child, or compassionate care tickets, please be sure to carry the original valid ID for ticket inspection. Failure to present the document or if the identity does not match will result in the collection of the difference between the full fare and the fare paid. Also, this promotion does not apply to group discounts for the “Taipei–Banqiao” section; passengers who board a train other than the designated one must pay the full fare.
The “2012 Weekday Designated Train Group Discount for Groups of 30 or More Booking Form” can be downloaded from the THSR corporate website or obtained from THSR station staff. It must be faxed to (03) 261-3315 no later than three working days before the travel date (inclusive), during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM). A THSR representative will then contact you to proceed (public holidays and consecutive holidays will be postponed accordingly).
To request a train change or refund, the whole group must process the change or refund simultaneously, and it must be done no later than three working days before the travel date (inclusive) by completing the “2012 Weekday Designated Train Group Discount for Groups of 30 or More Change Form” and faxing it to the booking hotline. The acceptance window is Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM (not accepted on public holidays or national holidays). For any subsequent changes, you must cancel the tickets and place a new order. A handling fee of NT$20 per ticket will be charged for ticket cancellations.
