The competition in Taiwan’s Top 10 Small Tourist Towns PK voting is fierce, with Meinong District in Kaohsiung making the first-stage shortlist of 17 thanks to its rich Hakka culture and beautiful natural landscapes and ecology. The Kaohsiung City Government and Meinong homestays have joined forces to offer various incentives, including 15% off accommodation for those who vote, to boost votes and visibility.

Homestay operators in Meinong have teamed up with local residents — as long as you fill out a voting postcard, check Meinong, and hand it to the homestay front desk, you can enjoy 15% off your stay. These homestays include Renzi Mountain Villa, Zhongzheng Lake Homestay, Zhongzheng Lake European-Style Villa, Lin Family Homestay, Meilv Homestay, Meinong Homestay, Meinong Qing Leisure & Sightseeing Homestay, Yan Cheng Homestay, Guilin Meinong Holiday Villa, Baiguoyuan Homestay, Yunshanju, Humei Yin, and Fengyuan Homestay, totaling 13 establishments.
In addition, homestay operators are sponsoring 10 free nights at various homestays as extra gifts for those supporting Meinong, while the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has also added six free nights at Grand Park Hotels & Resorts and Ambassador Hotel in downtown Kaohsiung to cheer for Meinong.
There are three ways to vote in the Top 10 Small Tourist Towns campaign: online via the website shidaixiaocheng.tw on a computer or mobile app until 12:00 noon on March 9. You can also pick up campaign postcards at six traveler service centers — including at the High-Speed Rail Zuoying Station, TRA Kaohsiung Railway Station, MRT Formosa Boulevard Station, Love River, Cijin, and Lotus Pond — or at the Meinong District Office and Meinong homestays, fill them out, and mail them back. Alternatively, you can buy a regular postcard and download the postcard image from the campaign website, then mail it to: 15F, No. 111, Songjiang Rd., Taipei 104, Taiwan, to the Small Tourist Town Evaluation Unit before March 7.
