The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration and National Jinan University have partnered to host a “Flower Appreciation & Tea Ceremony” exchange event at 2 PM on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Combining humanities, tea culture, and traditional Chinese music performances, in collaboration with the Dapu Li Area Tourism Development Association, and featuring special offerings from Taiwan Water Corporation, Puli Winery, 18°C Chocolate Workshop, Hongx? Shanshui? Farm, Eight Trigrams Spring, Hengyuanmai, Hualian Supermarket, and local cultural and artistic groups such as the Calligraphy & Painting Art Association. The event promises a poetic and romantic springtime gathering, inviting visitors to enjoy the scenic beauty of campus, relax amidst fragrant blossoms, and even take part in tea appreciation sessions that convey deep cultural sentiments.

Apart from the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village and the easily accessible cherry blossoms along the way, if you’re looking for a conveniently located and flat area to enjoy cherry blossoms near the popular tourist destination of Sun Moon Lake, the campus of National Jinan University is a great choice. Situated along the route from Puli to Sun Moon Lake, the university’s vast 150-hectare campus is home to thousands of Taiwan mountain cherries and Japanese Somei Yoshino cherry trees. From now until early March is the best time for cherry blossom viewing.
