1. The Green Light Project
The Green Light Project campus was created from 12 renovated dormitories originally belonging to the Water Supply Bureau. The once-locked old houses have been transformed and rented out to young people, now housing fashion stores, private studios, and cultural and creative shops. Further inside, you’ll find Dessert Forest, lined with cafes and dessert shops, where the relaxing atmosphere makes it easy to spend an entire afternoon.

2. Rainbow Village
Rainbow Village is a small settlement filled with paintings. Every alley, wall, and corner features cute and playful graffiti, including portraits, animals, and plants—all rich in local flavor. Young people love taking photos with the colorful bricks, and the bold, cheerful style has helped this place gain fame, drawing many visitors who come to pay homage.

3. Taichung Cultural and Creative Park
Originally a brewery, Taichung Cultural and Creative Park has been successfully transformed into a creative hub through government planning and renovation. Upon entering, you’ll see many vibrantly painted old wine barrels created by artists. In addition to cafes with live music performances, the park also hosts various educational and cultural exhibitions. One of the highlights is the Wine Culture Museum, where visitors can sample fine wines and related alcoholic beverages.

4. Guangfu New Village
Exuding a strong military dependents’ village atmosphere, Guangfu New Village has not only served as a filming location for many movies but is also a favorite spot for couples to take wedding photos. The village is most famous for its various uniquely designed chairs, such as those shaped like animals, national flags, and textbook pages. There are also special installations scattered throughout the village alleys. This old community, transformed into an artistic space, has successfully generated a lot of buzz.

5. Tuku Li
Located near the art museum, Tuku Li was once a U.S. military base, hence the abundance of Western-style houses in the area. It is surrounded by numerous cultural and creative boutiques, making it a perfect spot for treasure-hunting youths. In addition, there are many specialty restaurants offering unique cuisine. Compared to other old villages, Tuku Li is relatively newer, yet it remains free from the hustle and bustle of the city.

6. Zhongxin Market
Though its exterior is unassuming, Zhongxin Market is actually a hidden gem for creative souls. Each small space is packed with a variety of cultural and creative items. Due to its discreet location, it sees few tourists, which adds to its tranquil atmosphere. The little shops tucked away in residential areas glow with dim neon lights, giving Zhongxin Market an air of mystery.
