Positioned near the Twin Lakes, the scenic restaurant Ngiring Ngewedang is a key stop on the way to Lovina and new Graga, as well as a common lunch spot for travelers. At an elevation of approximately 1,500 meters, the cool and comfortable average annual temperature of 18°C, coupled with breathtaking mountain views — where you can gaze upon both Twin Lakes and verdant terraced fields — often makes visitors lose track of time.

The restaurant primarily serves traditional Indonesian dishes. The signature dish “Braised Pork or Chicken” (Babi or Ayam Kecap) involves simmering shredded radish, cloves or cinnamon together with chicken or pork in sweet soy sauce until the meat becomes tender. Its flavor is quite similar to the Chinese red-braised pork and pairs excellently with rice. “Spiced Coffee Chicken or Fish” (Kare Ayam or Ikan) is made by stir-frying a blend of spices including cloves, chili, cinnamon, red ginger, lemongrass, macadamia nuts, kaffir lime leaves, and coriander. Pre-seared meat is then added, followed by curry powder, and finally coconut milk to finish the dish. The rich curry broth, complemented by the subtle sweetness of coconut milk, is particularly appetizing.

Beyond the food, the restaurant also offers authentic traditional handmade coffee. The coffee beans are grown right at the café, carefully picked, sun-dried, roasted, and brewed — every step is done in-house. The name “Ngiring Ngewedang” actually means “Please come have a cup of coffee,” so remember to order a coffee before you hit the road.
