As part of the “2012 Carrefour Culture & Arts Season” tour, following the warm public response to performances by Ten Drums Art Percussion Group in Tainan in January and Theatre If in Kaohsiung in February, on March 24 (Saturday), the Ten Drums Art Percussion Group will take the stage again at the Fulfillment Amphitheatre in Taichung City, presenting their annual masterpiece “Splendor of Ten Drums,” which is free to the public.

The Ten Drums Art Percussion Group is one of Taiwan’s premier drumming ensembles, with works that have been nominated for the Grammy Awards in the United States. This “Splendor of Ten Drums” performance brings together classic hits and pieces from the group’s repertoire over the years, delivering earth-shaking and soul-stirring performances. These include “Summon the Generals,” inspired by the Eight Generals; “Crush the Linked Horses,” adapted from the Water Margin tale of Song Jiang’s defeat of the linked cavalry; and “Chasing the Deer—Dancing Over Bright Lake,” based on the ancestral legend of the Thao people of Sun Moon Lake. The drumming is combined with dance and drama, along with stunning light and sound effects, showcasing Taiwan’s diverse artistic expressions and the powerful momentum of drum music.

The “Splendor of Ten Drums” performance on the evening of March 24 at 7:00 PM is free and no tickets are required. Free admission opens to the public at 5:30 PM.
