The Miaoli County Government has introduced the “Licensed Accommodation Service Quality Certification and Five-Star Evaluation” program, referencing assessment frameworks from the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and leading international standards, while enhancing Miaoli’s distinctive imagery to meet local needs and industrial culture. The entire event is open for voluntary participation with no evaluation fees. Registration is now open and will run until April 8.

The evaluation panel will consist of scholars, media professionals, tourism operators, and mystery shoppers. The process is divided into two phases: the first phase of certification runs from now until April 15, assessing the basic environment and service quality of participating businesses. The second phase, the star rating evaluation, takes place from April 15 to May 10, scoring independently across five criteria: “Facility Quality,” “Landscape Environment,” “Customer Service,” “Innovative Features,” and “Marketing & Reception.”
Businesses that receive Miaoli County’s licensed accommodation star certification plaque will have a valid certification period of two years, which can serve as a reference indicator for consumers choosing accommodations in Miaoli. The program is open for voluntary registration with no evaluation fees. Currently, 78 lodging operators have signed up for the certification evaluation.
