The popular Japanese handmade bag brand MSPC (Master-Piece), loved by young people in Taiwan and Japan, has collaborated with digmeout, a creative project initiated by Osaka-based radio station FM802, to launch a new joint work — the MSPC x DIGMEOUT London Olympics Concept Mixed-Material Tote Bag.

digmeout is a major project regularly launched by Osaka’s FM802 radio station to discover emerging artists. Its mission is to introduce lesser-known rising talents to a wider audience, even giving them the chance to achieve fame. In July 2001, the first issue of the “digmeout” art magazine was published, showcasing artists’ talents to Japan and the world (published until September 2006, with six issues in total). In 2002, the “digmeout CAFÉ” art gallery café opened; it relocated and reopened in Osaka’s Amerikamura district in September 2006. Currently, it operates as “digmeout ART&DINNER” based in Osaka, delivering the latest art news.

Since 2004, digmeout has launched collaborative projects with major Japanese companies. Joint ventures with Nippon Bank’s RISONART, as well as renowned brands like SONY and NISSAN, generated considerable buzz. Starting in April 2004, it also began scouting creators from various fields and organizing events, eventually establishing an art and design talent agency under the name digmeout FACTORY. Exhibitions have been held worldwide, including in the United States, Portland, Los Angeles, and Australia. It has also partnered with globally recognized brands such as NIKE and adidas on collaborative projects. With the motto “Spreading next-generation design power from Osaka to the world,” it has gained international attention for its efforts in discovering new talent and nurturing emerging artists. In 2008, the digmeout.net website was launched, bringing together people who aim to realize their dreams and goals through art, becoming an international hub for global artistic talent.

This time, the “digmeout” project, themed around the London Olympics, features three distinct designs created by three artist groups: “HR-FM,” “DRAGON,” and “Yamashita Ryōhei.” The body of the tote features both horizontal and vertical elements constructed using 10-count thread with three layers, enhanced with waterproof materials and 0.5mm thick waterproof PVC bonded via a high-precision lamination process. Accessories use 2.5mm plant-tanned natural cowhide, which develops a beeswax-like patina over time with extended use. The interior is lined with 0.35mm waterproof fabric, offering excellent water resistance along with convenient short and long handles, making it a highly practical everyday bag. Each of the three artist groups has used different color schemes for the main body material, straps, and waterproof interior lining, resulting in a series that, while sharing the same design, presents completely distinct styles.
