Recognizing the tourism business potential in Hangzhou as one of the newly opened cities for independent travel by mainland Chinese tourists, TransAsia Airways will launch an exclusive direct Hualien–Hangzhou route starting April 19. This is also the first regular cross-strait flight route from Hualien, which is expected to drive tourism and business between the two cities. Additionally, TransAsia plans to open a Hualien–Wuhan route on May 7 and a Taoyuan–Sanya route on May 31. Regular flights to Japan will also commence with the Taoyuan–Osaka route starting June 28, with more to follow.

To celebrate the official launch of the new routes, TransAsia Airways is offering promotional fares from April 19 to May 15. Passengers can enjoy round-trip economy class tickets for NT$6,666 (tax excluded, valid for 14 days, limited to departures from Hualien with departure dates before May 15). Approximately 20% of seats on each flight will be available at this promotional rate, and quantities are limited, so book early. Hualien’s unique mountain-and-sea scenery has long been highly regarded by mainland tourists, and Hangzhou is also among the second batch of cities newly added for independent travel by mainland visitors.
