The 10 millionth visitor was born at around 2:20 pm today (April 27) at Taipei 101 Observatory！This lucky visitor is Ms. Kimura from Japan. She and her friend Ms. Kurazawa are visiting Taiwan for the first time on a 4-day free trip, and they never expected to receive such a surprise on the second day when they came to Taipei 101！

The host, Chairman Lin Hongming of Taipei 101, personally presented a limited-edition commemorative liquor—33-year-old kaoliang—and a souvenir fortune bag worth NT$50,000. Moreover, this lucky winner can bring one companion to visit Taipei 101 Observatory unlimited times for free within one year. Deputy Director Zhang Xicong of the Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications also presented a commemorative EasyCard on behalf of the bureau. Director Zhao Xinping of the Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism also gave gifts such as a Taipei 101-shaped commemorative cup and T-shirt.

Since its operation over seven years ago, Taipei 101 Observatory has seen record-breaking visitor numbers. In 2011, the number of visitors reached 1.89 million. On March 27 of this year (2011), the single-day visitor count exceeded 9,000 for the first time, setting a record of 9,177 visitors in a single day. Now, reaching the new milestone of 10 million cumulative visitors also represents the shared glory of the people of Taiwan.
