Modeled after Tokyo’s Omotesando, Taichung’s Grass & Wisdom Boulevard has been revitalized after a year of redevelopment. Not only does it now debut with a fresh new look, but from now until May 13, the Taichung City Government will also provide free shuttle buses between Civic Square and the Wuri High-Speed Rail Station every weekend, as well as free bicycle rentals at Civic Square—allowing visitors to explore Grass & Wisdom Boulevard in an energy-efficient, low-carbon way. Additionally, on May 12, a “Grass & Wisdom Boulevard Low-Carbon Parade Carnival” will be held at the National Museum of Natural Science, where the public is encouraged to bring any form of zero-emission transport such as bicycles or inline skates to join the vibrant green-themed parade in style.

Combining several greenways in Taichung’s West District, Grass & Wisdom Boulevard is a series of green parks that stretch about 3.6 kilometers—from the National Museum of Natural Science, through Civic Square and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, all the way to the Art & Culture Boulevard. The area regularly hosts various events and has become a popular weekend destination for urban residents seeking nature. During the event period, free shuttle buses will run from Wuri High-Speed Rail Station to Civic Square starting at 9:00 AM every Saturday and Sunday, and free bicycle rentals will also be available at Civic Square—giving out-of-town visitors a chance to easily stroll along this long-exclusive green path for Taichung residents.

Besides taking a low-carbon walk along Grass & Wisdom Boulevard, the Low-Carbon Parade Carnival on May 12 will kick off from the National Museum of Natural Science. On the day of the event, participants are encouraged to use their imagination to decorate their zero-emission vehicles—such as bicycles, skateboards, inline skates, or tricycles—and join the parade. The route will pass through Boma Road, Yingcai Road, and Gongyi Road, offering a zero-carbon tour around downtown Taichung. Additionally, from now until June 10, the “Grass & Wisdom Boulevard · Green Living Glass House Exhibition” at Civic Square will light up at 6:00 PM every evening and remain open for visits from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM every Saturday and Sunday, extending the beauty of Grass & Wisdom Boulevard into the night.
