Food, grasslands, and music concerts—spend a relaxing Mother’s Day to make mom happy. This Sunday (the 13th) afternoon, the Kaohsiung City Land Administration Bureau will host a grassland music concert at Weiwu Camp. The event will feature the Jiu Tian Folklore Arts Troupe from the movie "Zhentou," the peerless all-female ensemble composed of talented traditional Chinese music students from various universities, as well as the Dagou Luan Choir, among others. These groups will present traditional folk songs and performance arts, allowing moms to enjoy great music and shows and spend a relaxed Mother’s Day.

“Folk Songs Unite, Farmers Gather at Weiwu Camp” will take place from 15:00 to 18:00 on Mother’s Day afternoon at the “Banyan Garden Art Plaza” of the Weiwu Art and Cultural Center. The program includes performances by the Jiu Tian Folklore Arts Troupe from the 2012 local film "Zhentou," the Peerless All-Female Ensemble, the Dagou Luan Choir, and the Haikou 168 Troupe, inheritors of Hengchun folk songs. Additionally, to create a military atmosphere, there will be a design and styling team offering camouflage dance makeup and a free experience of the traditional recruit haircut. The camp’s “canteen beauties” will serve up fun with lemon-lime drinks, and temple fair girls will battle it out with electric three-legged deity performance aerobics to get everyone dancing.
In previous years, the concerts were held at Nong16 Aozidi Forest Ecological Park and Zhongdu Kiln Site, attracting over ten thousand attendees. This year, in addition to musical and performance acts, carnations, cakes, and popsicles will be handed out, along with a “Love Mom” selfie station.
