I still remember how the Twin-Heart Stone Weir of Qimei would repeatedly emerge and vanish with the tides under the scorching sun and shifting waves. But how many have visited the wind-swept Penghu Archipelago in the cold winter months? To that end, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has launched a creative travel ideas, photo, and microfilm competition under the theme “Blue Penghu, Heart Throbs.” Starting June 1, visitors who submit creative ways to enjoy rides on the Taiwan-Kaohsiung ferry (Taiwan Ferry) or propose lesser-known travel themes in Penghu stand a chance to win a top prize of NT$50,000.

This “Peng Blue Heart Throbs” competition kicks off with a call for creative Taiwan Ferry ride ideas. From June 1 to August 31, visitors who actually take the Taiwan Ferry and come up with creative ways to enjoy the journey can submit their ideas and photo explanations on the official website to compete for a top prize of NT$30,000. This will be followed by a photo and microfilm contest, where participants can submit works featuring lesser-known travel themes in Penghu. Photos or videos taken between May 1 and September 30 are eligible; submission period is from October 1 to October 7. Public voting is scheduled from November 1 to November 30, with the top microfilm prize set at NT$50,000 and the top photo prize at NT$10,000. Voters also have a chance to win a TOBE car.

Additionally, Taiwan Navigation Co., Ltd. will hold the “New Port PLAY ‘Check-In Without Fatigue – Taiwan Ferry Check-In for Gifts’” campaign. From June 1 to June 30 during ticketing hours (08:00–16:30), visitors to the Taiwan Ferry ticket office in Kaohsiung can check in on FACEBOOK to redeem a set of keychains and phone charms, limited to 10 sets per day, totaling 300 sets until supplies last.
