The Taimali Golden Needle Flower Festival is just around the corner. This year, the Taimali Golden Needle Mountain Summer Leisure Series will grandly commence on August 4th and 5th. The Taimali Township Office has planned a beach camping experience and an indigenous traditional dance competition evening to be held starting at 6:00 PM on August 4th (Saturday) at the Dawn Scenic Area, as well as a Golden Needle Mountain cycling mountain race to be held starting at 7:00 AM on August 5th (Sunday), among a series of other activities.

Registration for the Dawn Scenic Area beach camping experience camp ends on July 6th. The registration fee is NT$1,000, which includes one double tent (with sleeping mat), two hot spring vouchers for Golden Spring Hot Springs, two round-trip bus tickets between the Dawn Scenic Area and Golden Spring Hot Springs, and public accident insurance. The Golden Needle Mountain Cycling Mountain Race, divided into competitive and challenge groups, has its starting point at the Taimali Township Office and the finish line at Ziyun Villa on Golden Needle Mountain. Registration ends on July 6th. The registration fee is NT$500 for road bikes (competitive group), NT$400 for mountain bikes (competitive group), and NT$200 (challenge group), all of which come with a NT$100 shopping voucher (valid only in Taimali Township). The top prize for the race is NT$10,000.
There will also be a special flower-viewing shuttle bus service operating between the Dawn Scenic Area and Golden Needle Mountain, with a registration fee of NT$300. This fee can be used as credit for purchases at local businesses in Taimali Township or for buying agricultural specialties. Due to limited spots, this option is only available to those who sign up for camping.
