As Thailand steps into midsummer, its annual Surprise Sale, now in its 14th consecutive year, has officially kicked off. Over the two-month event period, it is expected that around 15,000 businesses from various industries will participate, including department stores, retail shops, duty-free stores, hotels, and airlines. Shoppers can not only enjoy discounts on their purchases but also receive coupons when spending reaches certain amounts. They’ll also have the chance to win an alluring 30-day holiday in Thailand, which includes round-trip first-class flights, domestic flights to all destinations within the itinerary, as well as accommodation and meals throughout the trip.

During the 14th edition of the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, travelers can explore pedestrian shopping streets set up in major cities to experience Thai culture while shopping. Examples include “TERMINAL 21” on Sukhumvit Road, designed to resemble an airport and featuring a mall atmosphere inspired by world-famous shopping streets; or “ROBINSON Rama 9” at the new Central Plaza Grand Rama 9 complex, which boasts over six floors of sale areas, each with its own unique modern and independent style. Additionally, “MEGABANGNA,” located just a 15-minute drive from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, is the largest low-rise supermall in Southeast Asia. Its design concept, “Everything Under One Roof,” will also make its debut to consumers during this sale event.

During the event, apart from receiving 1–2 coupons for every 500 Thai Baht (approximately NT$488) spent in cash or with Visa cards at participating stores, domestic Thai shoppers have the chance to win shopping vouchers worth up to 1 million Thai Baht (approximately NT$976,800), while foreign consumers may be eligible for the “Amazing Thailand 30-Day Holiday” raffle prize. This grand prize includes a companion, a 30-day holiday in Thailand, round-trip first-class flights, domestic flights to all destinations on the itinerary, transportation services, hotel accommodations, meals, admission fees to all attractions, as well as experiences of Thai lifestyle, culture, and guided tours. The coupon draw will take place on September 20, and the list of winners will be announced on October 10 at www.tourismthailand.org/thailandgrandsale.
