Germany is a global hub for international business exhibitions. After the summer break, a new wave of trade show season is upon us. There's the bicycle exhibition in Friedrichshafen at the end of August, the consumer electronics show in Berlin in September, the major book fair in Frankfurt in October, the medical equipment exhibition in Düsseldorf in November, and even the triennial Munich Bakery Show also kicks off in September. During the peak exhibition season, flight tickets are always hard to come by. Spotting this business opportunity, some operators have launched discounted train fares—the German Rail Pass Exhibition Discount Ticket allows you to choose any 2 days of first-class travel within a month for just €156 (approximately NT$5,844), which is even more economical than a one-way ticket.

Traveling by European trains is highly convenient. Unlike taking domestic flights that involve complicated procedures and waiting for connecting flights, you can simply head to the train station at Frankfurt Airport. With frequent train services and no need to wait for seats, it only takes 3 hours to reach Hanover, 3.5 hours to Munich, and just 1 hour to Cologne. Flying Carpet Travel’s European Rail Pass offers an Exhibition Discount Ticket for business travelers: the German Rail Pass allows you to select any 2 days of first-class travel within a month for €156. This price is more cost-effective compared to one-way point-to-point train tickets. For example, a one-way first-class ICE high-speed train ticket from Frankfurt to Cologne costs about €117 (approximately NT$4,383), and to Munich, about €162 (approximately NT$6,070).

And for those who want to explore Europe again, Flying Carpet Travel’s “Travel by Train” website is running an essay submission campaign titled “Autumn: The Time to Fall in Love with European Train Travel” from now until the end of August. Submit your essay for a chance to win a “French Rail Pass: Choose Any 4 Days of First-Class Travel Within a Month” worth €234 (approximately NT$9,000).
