The Taichung City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau will host the “Print & Play – Awesome Kids’ Festival” tomorrow (September 1st), with block printing as the theme. From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, activities will take place at the plaza in front of Wenying Hall and the 2nd Floor Taiwan Traditional Block Print Special Collection Room. The festival will feature creative experiences, parent-child games, handmade crafts, and more, integrating the four major types of block printing—intaglio, relief, planographic, and stencil. Nine hands-on workshops will be offered, including leaf-printed tote bags on linen and painted mugs. The site will also include stage performances, a cultural and creative market, and food stalls. Additionally, all participants in the “Print & Play – Awesome Kids’ Festival” can enter a lucky draw to win prizes such as LCD TVs and shopping vouchers, giving families the chance to enjoy a holiday outing and possibly win big.

The “Print & Play – Awesome Kids’ Festival” takes traditional block printing—a craft that combines drawing, carving, and printing—as its theme. In addition to creative experiences, parent-child games, and hands-on crafts at the plaza in front of the hall, as well as dozens of themed booths including stage performances, a cultural and creative market, and delicious food, the 2nd Floor Taiwan Traditional Block Print Special Collection Room will host the “Mr. Eraser Creative Exhibition” and the “Block Print Little Players First Exhibition.” These exhibitions showcase playful life imagery through diverse printing techniques. Visitors can also get a commemorative stamp authorized by Mr. Eraser to take home as a keepsake.
This event also integrates the four major types of block printing—intaglio, relief, planographic, and stencil—and has designed the “Print Your Way to Vintage Cool – Elective Interest Courses,” including nine workshops: leaf-printed tote bags on linen, handmade creative soap, iPhone tree-themed phone cases, romantic handmade night lights, painted mugs, print-your-own bags, finger-carving fun, colorful life tumblers, and a cute bento collection. Except for the free tote bag workshop, other courses cost approximately NT$200–290.
