The Nantou World Tea Expo is about to enter its third year. This year’s event, themed “Life Aesthetics V筒栉幕?蔽?魈猓??”, will take place from October 6 to 14 in Zhongxing New Village, featuring a series of activities over nine days. During the event, not only will there be the Bagua Tea Banquet centered around Nantou County’s eight major tea-producing regions, but also “Taiwan Tea Tales,” which combines storytelling art with the aroma of tea and music. Additionally, tea ceremony groups from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other countries will perform their respective tea culture traditions. On the afternoon of October 7, a thousand-person tea gathering will be held, with an estimated 3,000 people brewing and savoring tea together on Zhongxing Qingqing Grassland. Through diverse tea ceremonies at each booth, participants can experience the essence of tea ceremony and tea art culture.

This year’s expo features a total of 12 themed activities. Among them, the World Tea Culture Exhibition and Taiwan Tea Performance invite tea masters from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other countries to set up national tea booths. Through different tea schools, they brew famous teas from various tea-growing regions, while tea masters explain the philosophy behind brewing, demonstrate brewing techniques, and offer tastings to visitors. The Tea History and Tea Culture Exhibition allows visitors to learn about Taiwan’s tea history, as well as information on Taiwan’s tea regions, tea varieties, tea utensils, tea production, and tea evaluation, after savoring rich and lingering teas. Meanwhile, the National Youth Tea Processing Skills Competition helps visitors gain a deeper understanding of the tea-making process through competitions and process demonstrations, leaving a more lasting impression through DIY tea-making experiences.
In addition, events such as the Children’s Tea Art Competition, Golden Premium Tea Tasting, and the Taiwan Specialty Tea and Agricultural Products Sales Fair focus on tea literature and art. Children can observe and learn tea brewing techniques, etiquette, and tea booth arrangements through competitions. A selection of premium teas from all over Taiwan is offered, including a chance to taste Taiwan’s most expensive competition tea. Other activities include tea evaluation sessions, fun tea tasting, and tea evaluation games. Moreover, the sales fair invites tea farmers from Taiwan’s specialty tea regions to participate and combines agricultural products from various tea-producing areas in Nantou County. With a total of 200 booths, visitors can explore top-quality teas from across Taiwan, including Hohuan Mountain High Mountain Tea, Dongding Oolong Tea, Shanlinxi Tea, Sun Moon Lake Black Tea, and Jiabei Tea.
