Known as the “Golden Horse Award of the art world,” the “Dazhong Art Exhibition” is entering its 17th year this year. The exhibition runs daily from October 20 to November 8, from 09:00 in the morning to 21:00 in the evening. Works entered in this competition come from 33 countries and regions, totaling over 1,500 pieces, and are divided into 11 categories including crafts, sculpture, digital art, photography, printmaking, watercolor, oil painting, gouache, seal carving, calligraphy, and ink color. From these, 212 award-winning works will be selected for display, including award-winning pieces by foreign artists such as Japan’s Kitagawa Taro. In addition, the most highly anticipated “Dazhong Award” from the exhibition will select five winners from the first-place winners of the 11 categories, and the awards ceremony will take place at Zhongshan Hall at 16:00 on October 20.

This year, a total of 1,592 works were submitted to the Dazhong Art Exhibition, including entries from artists in 33 countries and regions such as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Romania, Israel, Japan, Australia, Mexico, the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Ireland. After preliminary and final reviews, 212 outstanding works were selected as prize winners. What’s particularly notable this year is that several international artists received major awards—for instance, Japan’s Kitagawa Taro won first place in the sculpture category, Poland’s Mikolaj Jackiewicz took second place in digital art with a reflective piece, and artists from the United States and Mainland China also secured spots in the printmaking, photography, and seal carving categories.

As for the most anticipated “Dazhong Award” of the exhibition, the finalists are the first-place winners from the 11 competition categories. This year’s nominees are: Crafts – Wu Ming?, Sculpture – Kitagawa Taro, Digital Art – Zhuo Jiewei, Photography – Xu Guiyi, Printmaking – Gao Chunying, Watercolor – Guo Xinyi, Oil Painting – He Huizhi, Gouache – Chen Yijia, Seal Carving – Gu Yaohua, Calligraphy – Shi Chengyou, and Ink Color – Wu Rixian. The Dazhong Art Exhibition awards ceremony will be held on October 20 at Zhongshan Hall, featuring performances by renowned groups—Chuanyuan Culture and Art Troupe and TPY. All attendees of the ceremony will receive an exhibition album.
