The National Palace Museum is hosting the grand exhibition "Mighty Zhōu Dynasty—Special Exhibition on Western Zhōu Culture" from now until January 7th next year, unveiling the mysteries of the Western Zhōu Dynasty from 3,000 years ago. The 176 sets of rare unearthed cultural relics almost include the most representative typical artifacts among the Western Zhōu relics unearthed in Shaanxi Province over the past sixty-plus years. The Palace Museum stated that out of the 176 sets of relics, as many as 54 sets are classified as first-grade cultural relics on the mainland, making this exhibition unprecedented in scale. There are even mainland cultural relic enthusiasts planning to organize group visits to Taiwan for the exhibit. In addition, starting tomorrow (the 19th), the main hall of the museum will extend its closing time to 9:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on those days, Taiwanese citizens can enter the main hall for free upon presenting their ID.

The Western Zhōu Culture Special Exhibition brings together precious collections from the Shaanxi History Museum, the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology, the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum, the Baoji Zhouyuan Museum, the Qishan County Zhouyuan Museum, the Qishan County Museum, the Fufeng County Museum, and the Fengxiang County Museum. These include bronze ware inscribed with lengthy texts, recently unearthed oracle bones, ceramics, shell artifacts, as well as numerous exquisite jade and gold artifacts excavated from the Rui State tomb sites.

This exhibition is displayed in Exhibition Rooms 103, 105, and 107 on the first floor of the main hall of the Palace Museum. In addition to the specially approved exhibits—the two star pieces "He Zun" (He Vessel) and "Qiang Pan" (Wall Plate)—it is particularly noteworthy that the "He Fu Gui" (He Fu Tripod) and "He Fu Bell" commissioned by King Li of Zhōu, unearthed in Fufeng County, Shaanxi Province, have also come to Taiwan. They are being displayed alongside the Palace Museum’s own collection, the "Zong Zhou Bell" (Zhōu Bell), also commissioned by King Li. This presents visitors with an insight into the ritual and music system of the Zhōu Dynasty, further reflecting the Zhōu people's reverence for ancestors and heaven. The Palace Museum emphasized that exhibiting these three artifacts—commissioned personally by King Li of Zhōu and now housed separately on both sides of the Taiwan Strait—all at once is an unprecedented event.
