Now in its 11th year, the popular autumn event along the Northeast Coast – the Caoling Historic Trail Miscanthus Flower Season,will take place from November 1 to 11 along the Caoling Historic Trail. With this year’s theme “Autumn Miscanthus Memories,” in addition to the classic 8.5-kilometer route of the “Caoling Historic Trail,” there will also be a new “Puzzle Collection for Mystery Gifts” game at four stations: Yuanwangkeng Aquatic Park, the Inn Ruins, the Forest Ranger Station, and Dali Visitor Center. Activities will include tea service by “waiters,” DIY workshops for stone rubbing and dough figurine making, enjoying a peace porridge at Dali Tian Gong Temple, free rides on the Lingjiushan shuttle bus up the mountain to enjoy the miscanthus and receive gifts, friendly perks from the Northeast Coast, and more. Combined with hot spring operators’ offers, guests can enjoy up to 50% off for weekdays and 20% off for weekends on accommodations plus hot spring baths, letting visitors start from the Caoling Historic Trail to admire the beautiful spectacle of autumn miscanthus.

The Caoling Historic Trail Miscanthus Flower Season has long been a flagship autumn event of the Northeast Coast Scenic Area Administration, drawing large crowds of tourists each year to experience the cultural charm of the historic trail. This year, shuttle buses for the flower season will run from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM on four dates: November 3, 4, 10, and 11, traveling between Fulong Visitor Center and Yuanwangkeng Aquatic Park. Visitors can take the shuttle bus to the entrance of the Caoling Historic Trail (Yuanwangkeng entrance), stroll along the trail, and then walk to Dali to take the train back. The shuttle bus requires a self-paid fare of NT$15.
During the event period, 14 businesses have also joined forces to launch a series of “Autumn Miscanthus Memories” discounts, available upon presenting the flower season stamp. These include accommodations in Toucheng and Jiaoxi, where hotels offer discounts such as up to 50% off for weekdays and up to 20% off for weekends on stays plus hot spring baths. Travel agencies such as Lion Travel, Wu Fu Travel, and Shang Shun are also offering value-added tour packages themed around the flower season. Starting November 1, purchasing the “Taiwan Tour – Golden Fulong Line” NT$200 package, which includes three-day unlimited rides on the Golden Fulong Line, Jiaoxi Line, and Dongshan River Line, as well as an Fulong–Luodong Taiwan Railway ticket, will come with a Miscanthus Flower Season souvenir.
In addition, the Huashan Foundation will hold a second-hand charity market at the arcade of Fulong Visitor Center on flower season holidays. Visitors can exchange gifts with invoices from 25 stores or bring their own old clothes for charity sales.
