The Taipei International Travel Fair is set to kick off this Friday (the 26th), with various exhibition booths rolling out special offers and performance programs to attract visitors. Among them, the Korea Pavilion will not only showcase the country’s beautiful four seasons, rich local features of its provinces, trendy Korean pop culture, and appealing travel packages, but will also welcome back the internationally renowned and long-lasting hit JUMP to the fair. Additionally, the world premiere of the humorous musical Wedding《结婚快乐》, a brand-new creation by the producer behind the globally viewed 7.5 million-attendee show “NANTA,” will make its important world debut right here at the travel fair, giving Taiwanese audiences an exclusive first look.

The musical “Wedding” is a brand-new non-verbal performance created over three years by NANTA’s director Song Seung-hwan and his team. It combines dazzling stage dances such as blues and Latin with performances enhanced by guitar and bass music. The story follows the humorous moments that occur during a couple’s wedding ceremony, with actors delivering stellar performances and impressive musical skills to present a rich and funny storyline. The show is slated to open in April 2013, and its performance at the Taipei Travel Fair marks its global debut.

As for the must-see Korean performance “JUMP,” it will also be staged during the fair. “JUMP” blends traditional Korean elements like taekwondo, flying foot techniques, kung fu, and lively music, telling the story of two bumbling thieves who stumble into a highly skilled martial arts family whose members have a combined 117 dan ranks. Through rich physical comedy, sound, music, and top-tier martial arts and acrobatics — all performed without any props on the Korea Pavilion stage — the actors deliver laugh-out-loud high-level entertainment.
Beyond the exciting stage performances, local governments from various regions of Korea participating in the exhibition will introduce their unique features to Taiwanese travelers. These include the winter festival and travel paradise “Gangwon Province,” the region rich in scenic spots and cultural heritage “Gyeonggi Province,” the K-pop themed “Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province,” Korea’s third-largest city “Daegu Metropolitan City,” the beloved “Jeju Island,” and the home of the world’s largest indoor amusement park “Lotte World.” Each locality will present their tourist attractions via PPT and engage with the audience in interactive Q&A sessions — those who answer correctly may win special local products from Korea.
In addition, there will be hands-on experience activities featuring Korean games, including a popular “Gangnam Style” horse-riding dance competition; tuho, an ancient Korean aristocratic game that challenges hand balance, throwing accuracy, and focus; food grab game, where participants try their hand at using Korean flat metal chopsticks and taste authentic Korean dishes; and Travel Korea, a dice game where players guess representative attractions from different Korean regions.
For those most interested in great deals, visitors who purchase any group tour package to Korea at the Korea Pavilion can, upon presenting a deposit receipt issued by the travel agency, exchange it for a Lotte World plush toy or Everland Discovery Telescope at the Korea Tourism Organization service desk. Those who opt for independent travel packages will receive a 10,000 KRW voucher redeemable at traditional Korean markets, allowing travelers to experience the authentic daily life and true spirit of Korea firsthand.
