The meaning of travel for a group can be exemplified by the Wang Pin Group, which emphasizes the corporate culture of "visiting 100 countries, climbing 100 mountains, and trying 100 restaurants in a year," inspiring 13 of its employees to voluntarily take unpaid leave and together climb to the Everest EBC base camp at an altitude of over 5,300 meters, relying on personal willpower and team spirit to achieve their goal. This has even led to the company’s Everest group tour being fully booked up to 2014. For individuals, the value of travel can be seen in web designer Wang Yuxi, who fulfilled a small dream of visiting Pixar in the US—something she was unable to do by studying there—and in doing so, found her next life direction. Exploring the meaning and value of travel also earned both the Wang Pin Group and Wang Yuxi the top awards in the 2012 Taiwan New Top 100 Travelers, in the corporate and individual categories respectively.

Also participating in this selection event, the Dream Community Cultural and Educational Development Foundation spread the love of Taiwan worldwide through a lifestyle of carnival enthusiasm, living art, and enjoying the moment, showcasing bold creativity and passionate performances that won global hearts. They took second place in the corporate category of the New Top 100 Travelers. In third place, Rongqi Industrial uniquely designed different employee travel experiences each time, sparking work inspiration among team members and strengthening corporate cohesion.

In the individual category, first-prize winner Wang Yuxi originally dreamed of studying in the US but was unable to due to various external factors. However, through an opportunity where she personally funded the trip and used her vacation time to actively seek a visit to Pixar Animation Studios in the US, she not only gathered material for her competition entry but also deeply realized that breaking free from constraints and achieving small dreams through travel could transform the joy of fulfillment into motivation for setting new goals. This sense of accomplishment from reaching objectives helped her rediscover her life direction—the greatest reward and value of travel. “Just as I couldn’t study in the US, coming here to visit is still the beginning of fulfilling my dream.”

Liu Zhenghui, who works in a non-profit organization and won second place in the individual category, used his travels to help improve art education for children in Taiwan and returned to remote areas to share with kids, helping them realize their dreams of traveling the world. Third-place winner Jiang Xisheng spent nearly 100 days driving around 36 states in the US, covering more than 12,000 miles; he also hiked through multiple countries in the Americas, having traveled to over 20 countries in total.

This selection event received over 1,200 submissions globally, selecting 200 outstanding individual entries and 10 excellent corporate entries. From August 13 to 25, the second phase involved online public voting (40%) and jury scoring (60%). The jury was chaired by CEO of City Publishing Group He Feipeng, and included Qeebo Chairman Tao Chuanzheng, Shoreline Hotel General Manager Shen Fangzheng, Yunlang Tourism General Manager Sheng Zhirén, and Dean of the Tourism College at National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism Huang Rongpeng. The annual top ten best travelers and top three best companies were selected. The full list of winners can be found at the MOOK Scenic Spots Family event website: traveler.tripass.net/2012.
