In the festive atmosphere of December, the annual Macau Shopping Festival will take place from December 1 to 31. During the event, participating shops will offer various discounts. Additionally, booths will be set up at four major entry points for travelers—Macau International Airport, the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal in Coloane, and the Border Gate checkpoint—to host a million-dollar lucky draw. Prizes include stays at luxury hotel rooms, tickets to the world-class entertainment spectacle “The House of Dancing Water” at Studio City, ICBC UnionPay prepaid cards, and five thousand cash shopping vouchers.

For this lucky draw, passengers arriving at the airport need only present a valid same-day flight ticket; those arriving at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal in Coloane need to show a valid same-day ferry ticket; and travelers entering via the Border Gate are also eligible. All can receive one free entry into the million-dollar draw. Beyond the main lucky draw, every traveler will also receive a raffle ticket for the grand prize draw, with prizes including a Girard-Perregaux watch worth over MOP 1 million (approximately TWD 3.8 million), a diamond necklace worth MOP 100,000 (approximately TWD 380,000), a MOP 50,000 (approximately TWD 1.9 million) shopping voucher, and a gold bar worth MOP 50,000, among ten major awards in total. Beyond that, the joy of Christmas can be felt everywhere in Macau in December. In addition to the dazzling Christmas lights found all around, visitors can enjoy the Christmas trees erected in public squares, Santa Clauses mingling with the crowds, the sacred chimes from churches, and the cheerful carols sung by choirs—all adding to Macau’s vibrant festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, major hotels in Macau are also rolling out exciting holiday menus for Christmas. From November 21 to January 13, 2013, The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel will launch the “Winter in Venice” series of special events. During the event, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm each evening, the outdoor artificial lake at The Venetian will feature the breathtaking “Seasons of Light” 3D light and projection show for free. Next to the hotel’s giant Christmas tree, there will be street performer shows on Fridays from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturdays from 5:00 pm to midnight, and Sundays from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Various flagship stores in The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian will also offer different discount promotions.
