Fans of spicy stir-fried rice cakes, banana milk, or Korea’s “three treasures” — including water ginseng, chestnuts, and red dates — can now enjoy and shop for these treats without traveling all the way to Korea. From now until November 30, the Gyeonggi-do Food Culture Festival Tour kicks off first on the 12th floor of SOGO Taipei Zhongxiao Branch. The event will feature thousands of authentic Korean food products, locally sourced water ginseng, and rice cake chicken skewers freshly prepared by Korean chefs. There will also be cooking demonstrations by culinary experts. Additionally, during the event period, customers who spend over NT$2,000 in a single day will have a chance to join a lucky draw and win round-trip economy class plane tickets for two between Songshan and Seoul or between Taoyuan and Jeju.

This Gyeonggi-do Food Culture Festival will continue its tour across Taiwan, including stops at Kaohsiung Hanshin Dome, Yuanbhao Baoqing Store, City Super at SOGO Fuxing Branch, and Maga City Banqiao RT-Mart. The first stop on the 12th floor of SOGO Taipei Zhongxiao Branch showcases thousands of authentic Korean food items, including must-buy Korean travel favorites such as banana milk, strawberry milk, seaweed crackers, as well as locally sourced water ginseng, chestnuts, and red dates — Korea’s “three treasures.” There are also low-calorie noodles loved by Korean women, such as samyang noodles and kelp noodles, along with authentic Korean offerings like fresh kimchi, makgeolli (rice wine), and Gyeonggi-do rice, allowing visitors to experience Gyeonggi-do’s culture and cuisine without leaving the country.

At the event, dishes prepared live by Korean chefs include authentic Korean rice cake chicken skewers, spicy stir-fried rice cakes, ginseng chicken soup — known as the top winter nourishing beauty dish — and Korean beef bone soup. Aside from sampling and purchasing fresh, authentic Korean ingredients, hands-on cooking workshops guided by various culinary experts will be held daily from 2:30 PM between November 22–25. Activities include DIY Korean marinated meat skewers, spicy sauce workshops, creative cold noodle making, and more.
In addition, the event offers promotions such as buy five get one free on rice cake chicken and beef skewers, and buy two get one free on kimchi and pickled vegetable sets. A set of two banana milks is priced at NT$399 and comes with a bonus piggy bank. On specific dates, limited daily specials such as fresh yellow Korean pomelo tea, seaweed crackers, Korean bibimbap, and spicy stir-fried rice cake sauce will be available with buy-one-get-one-free deals or discounted prices. During the event period, customers who spend over NT$2,000 in a single day and successfully accumulate Happy Shopping card points will be eligible for one entry into the “Love Korea” lucky draw, with a chance to win round-trip economy class tickets between Songshan and Seoul or between Taoyuan and Jeju for two.
