With Lunar New Year approaching, the New Taipei City Government has launched the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - Muzha Pingxi Line.” Based on the existing Taipei Bus Route 795, passengers can board at Muzha Metro Station. The 80-minute bus route connects scenic spots such as Shenkeng Old Street, Shuangxi Kou (Shiding), Goddess Temple (Temple of the Five Lucky Gods), Jingmei Old Street, Pingxi Old Street, Shiding Old Street, and the Shiding Visitor Center. A one-day pass is available for NT$199 and a double pass for NT$520, allowing unlimited rides on the shuttle within one day. Additionally, the “Four Themed Tours – New Taipei La La Snake New Year Lucky Draw” event invites visitors to take photos with designated scenic spots, upload them to the event website, and enter to win prizes.

The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Muzha Pingxi Line in New Taipei City operates approximately once per hour on weekdays, with 24 additional trips on weekends—about one every 30 minutes. The full route uses a three-section fare system, with each section costing NT$15. To promote the new shuttle line, limited promotional ticket packages are available: 2,000 NT$199 one-day passes and 1,000 NT$520 double passes. These allow unlimited rides in one day, plus NT$100 shopping vouchers at designated shops in the Shenkeng and Pingxi commercial districts. The promotion also includes discounts at over 120 shops across the Shiding Old Street commercial area and more.
In line with the spring travel theme, an online lucky draw event called “New Taipei La La Snake New Year Lucky Draw” has been launched. From February 7 to February 24 during the Lunar New Year period, visitors to any New Taipei City tourist attraction—or the designated spots—can take creative photos incorporating snake-related elements such as snake hand gestures, poses, or costume patterns with the scenic background, then upload the images to the “New Taipei Traveler FB” event page to join the draw. Prizes include one HTC Butterfly, one iPad mini, one Panasonic LUMIX digital camera, and 50 NT$500 convenience store gift vouchers.

Moreover, during the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday, the New Taipei City Government’s Tourism Bureau has planned four themed travel routes for the festive season. In addition to using the newly launched Muzha Pingxi Line, travelers can also explore via the Golden Fulong Line and the Royal North Coast Line. Recommended activities include leisurely bike rides through “Iron Horse Tours,” visits to tourist factories to learn about traditional industries and try DIY projects in “Happy Hands-On” tours, or enjoying a tranquil countryside escape at leisure farms with “Happy Farm” tours.
