The cityscape of Taipei has presented different characteristics in various periods due to the involvement of its residents and the passage of time.

Over the years, Taipei has gradually incorporated design thinking, not only promoting the gradual transformation of the urban landscape but also making life more convenient and progressive for its citizens. For example, the historic Ximen Red House, after being occupied by a diverse group of designers and cultural and creative brands, has transformed into a uniquely creative design innovation hub. This has successfully revitalized the old building and provided a new platform for nurturing and showcasing Taipei’s emerging design brands and professionals. Meanwhile, the service design of the YouBike bicycle system allows citizens to explore Taipei at a more leisurely and relaxed pace while also achieving environmental goals such as energy conservation and carbon reduction.
