The third edition of the Crazy Street Asian Rap Music Festival, which has garnered much attention from young people, will launch a series of exciting cross-strait exchange activities, music lectures, and rap competitions starting March 16 (this Saturday). The theme song MV, shot at iconic cultural and creative locations in Taipei, will premiere on March 15. The most energetic and thrilling Asian rap music festival and rap battle championship will make their explosive debut on March 30 at URS21 Zhongshan Creative Base.

The theme song of this event, “Crazy,” was inspired by the concept of “Taipei – Once Is Never Enough.” It was composed by well-known underground rappers and multiple DJs, with lyrics written and performed by the first-prize winner of the previous two championship battles. The theme song MV weaves through Taipei’s artistic and cultural timeline, visiting Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Taipei Artist Village, Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei, and the Ximending shopping district. It also includes the Mengjia Longshan Temple commercial area, featuring Mengjia Park, Green Grass Alley, and the Buddhist Supplies Street, showcasing Taipei’s diverse blend of old and new. The vibrant energy of youthful enthusiasm collides with dynamic music and dance, premiering on YouTube starting March 15.
The rap music festival will take place at 1:00 PM on March 30 at the artsy and culturally rich URS21 Zhongshan Creative Base. Participants in this year’s rap battle championship come from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as as far away as Japan and the United States. To allow the public to explore rap music from various perspectives, six lectures will be held over three weeks starting this weekend, featuring speakers from both domestic and international rap music researchers and creators.
