A slow life and seasonal hidden gems — discover nature anew with The Lalu Xiapu

From now until May 31, The Lalu Xiapu is launching the “Spring Quest · Discover Nature” package, promoting a “very slow” (Taiwanese Hokkien for freshly picked) lifestyle philosophy. In addition to enjoying a stay in a hot spring suite, guests can take part daily in the “Nature in Learning” morning slow walk and make rainbow rolls in a DIY slow dining class. To support local fruit farmers, The Lalu Xiapu has partnered with the Xiapu Township Farmers’ Association for the first time to launch the “Nature Neighbor Food” program. From March to May, travelers can go picking kumquats, tomatoes, or loofahs and enjoy freshly made seasonal spring water produce. So far, over 500 travelers have participated. The program also features signature dishes made with these local specialties, such as “Discovering Golden Splendor – Kumquat Bunches from the Heart,” “Spring-Warmed Tomato Blooms – Shiso Plum Tomatoes,” and “Sweet Melon & Shrimp – Fresh Shrimp Loofah Tower.” These experiences encourage guests to cherish every beautiful moment while also showing sincere support for local fruit farmers. In May, travelers can journey through the tung blossom snow trail at Ren Shan Nursery, enjoying the colorful romance of strolling through May snow. One unique trip per month, discovering the most beautiful spots in Lanyang each season.

This year, there’s also an exclusive “relationship-building” program — “One Hidden Gem Per Season.” Each quarter, travelers are taken to explore a hidden gem in Lanyang. The first in spring is the Lanyang Avatar hidden within Wufengqi — the “Yuemekeng Waterfall.” Limited to 10 people per session, this secret spot is open for reservations every Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00. This short 40-minute journey, led by a professional guide, combines hiking, rock climbing, and stream wading into one adventurous trip. Along the way, you’ll pass through subtropical broadleaf forests, crystal-clear green pools, and milky-white rapids. Halfway through, you can rest under the bridge in the “Vine Realm” by the stream. Towering cliffs, broadleaf ladder ferns, and cool grasses lining the path signal that the refreshing “Yuemekeng” waterfall is near.
